Lackawanna suffers loss in 2OT

MESA, Arizona – Dec. 3, 2016 – It took to double overtime but No. 8 Mesa was able to defeat No. 7 Lackawanna a 48-42 loss in the Valley of the Sun Bowl.

Lackawanna quarterback David Pindell threw for 279 yards and 4 scores. He also ran for a touchdown as the Falcons opened a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Pindell set the Northeast Football Conference’s single-season touchdown pass record with 31.

Jerod Diggs caught 11 passes for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Falcons, who are 10-1. Linebacker Brad Zaffram led Lackwanna with 11 tackles and a pass breakup.
